A car is going to be given away this month in Pigeon Forge! The Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup is being held at Dollywood’s Splash Country (very close to some of our Pigeon Forge cabins) from September 10th to the 11th. Hot rods, custom cars, and classic cars will be entered into the Shades of the Past Hot Rod show. Cars will be displayed for everyone to view, and owners can enter to win the best in show award. Hot rods to be displayed will be older than 1972.
Detroit Speed is presenting their Detroit Speed & Engineering Modern Muscle Award during the Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup which will be held September 10th and 11th of 2010. The winning car owner will be given a fabulous prize and so will the second place owner. Hot rods will be judged on attention to detail, drivability, engineering, performance, function, and theme. The first place prize is a ’32 Ford Roadster. The second place prize is $10,000.
For visitors to the Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup in Pigeon Forge admission is $10 for adults and free for children. Car enthusiasts will absolutely enjoy this hot rod show! Cars will be parked to show so visitors will get an up close look at these beauties.
Winners from the 2009 event include a ‘32 Ford, ’53 Buick, ‘72Nova, ‘50 Tin Woody, and a ’69 Camaro, just to name a few.
