Just because Christmas has passed doesn’t mean that we’re done celebrating. New Year’s in cabins in Pigeon Forge is a lot of fun! The city of Pigeon Forge holds Winterfest activities through the month of January, so the spirit of the season is evident throughout the winter months. Lights stay strewn, and celebrations continue. One of the great activities is the New Year’s Eve celebration in Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas.
Celebrating New Year’s in Pigeon Forge is lots of fun. Many of the attractions will be open on New Year’s Eve and in Pigeon Forge then there’s a major New Year’s celebration close to Pigeon Forge in Gatlinburg. Crowds of people fill the tiny town of Gatlinburg and surround the Space Needle located off of traffic light #8. The New Year’s celebration is complete with a ball drop event at the Space Needle and a live band that performs great tunes for all to enjoy. The event gets bigger and more exciting every year.
Families who want to participate in the ball drop New Year’s celebration should plan on paying for parking and walking to the downtown area that the Space Needle is at. A good idea is to eat a late dinner in Gatlinburg and enjoy the downtown area while waiting to see the ball drop. You can even bring light lawn chairs to sit on. The live entertainment will definitely keep you busy while you wait.

Visitors coming to Pigeon Forge for New Year’s Eve may also want to keep in mind that Ober Gatlinburg has opened their ski slopes, and the Titanic is hosting an ice carving competition at the beginning of January.
