It’s that time of year again! It’s time for the bi-annual Grand Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This year the Rod Run will be held April 12th through the 15th. Offering both indoor and outdoor festivities, this famed event brings visitors from all across the country to the Grand Resort Hotel.
This year, the Grand Resort Hotel has gone above and beyond to offer it’s Rod Run participants and attendants a smooth run. All guests will receive one parking pass per room rented. Parking will be available on site until the lot fills, then guests will be relocated to an off-site lot for guests with parking passes to use.
Want to ensure you can park on site? Purchase a VIP Package! The Grand Resort is offering two VIP packages to best suit Rod Run attendees. The Gold Package will offer “come and go as you please” parking directly in front of the hotel lobby. The Platinum Package offers “come and go as you please” numbered parking directly on the main Parkway for easy entrance and exit. Both packages include meals for two, beginning with lunch on Thursday and ending with breakfast on Sunday. In addition, both packages are for five day and six night stays at the Grand Resort Hotel.
If you’re not looking to purchase a package to stay for the whole event, there are options available for you, as well! On site parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Off site parking will offer a complimentary shuttle to transport you back and forth during the event. There is also parking available at the Grand Majestic Theater.
This year’s Spring Rod Run introduces a new category to the contest called Rat Rod. Rat Rod cars emphasize function over form – they are meant to be driven, not shown off! These cars will often appear unfinished or stripped to the bare minimum. Unlike expensive show hot rods, these cars are relatively affordable and of course, powerful!
There will be an $8,000 cash giveaway at this Spring’s Rod Run. In addition, the Grand Resort is offering live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights! Come check out Southern Drawl Band on the 13th at 7:00PM. On Saturday, the 14th, Southbound Band will be performing beginning at 7:00PM. This honky tonk country is sure to get the crowd moving!
