Gatlinburg’s Taste of Autumn
Entering its 22nd year, the Taste of Autumn kicks off the fall season September 12 in the Smokies with a charity fundraiser full of variety from the area’s most popular restaurants, new up and comers, and live music! This year’s entertainment is On The Border, the most popular Eagles tribute band in America!
Raising more than $180,000 over the years, funds from The Taste of Autumn help sustain a long list of public aid programs that serve the community of Sevier County. These residents are the hard workers that constantly invite millions of tourists to share in the beauty of their home cities in the Smokies, so this is a fantastic way to show your appreciation while dining on mouthwatering foods and jamming out with On The Border!
Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights
Bright jack-o-lanterns, elaborate Halloween displays filled with scarecrows and giant friendly spiders, artisan crafters showing off their skills, and delicious pumpkin spice treats…it’s time for Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights!
From September 27 through November 2, the South’s favorite theme park comes to life with elaborate pumpkin carvings by professional pumpkin artists and giant fall-inspired displays. If you love your pumpkin inspired recipes, then you won’t want to miss out on the Harvest Festival in Dollywood! And, of course, enjoy all your favorite rides and visit the newest magical expansion, Wildwood Grove.
Wears Valley 6th Annual Fall Fest
Set in the beautiful Smoky Mountain foothills of Wears Valley, Keep Sevier Beautiful presents one of the area’s largest autumn events. From October 18 to October 20 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 4 p.m. on Sunday – bring the whole family to enjoy tasty Southern treats, antique car and tractor shows, live arts and crafts demonstrations and booths, activities perfect for the kids, and live entertainment all set against the changing leaves of fall!
Sprinkled all throughout this large festival, the hosts, Keep Sevier Beautiful, provide booths with a wealth of information and interactive learning about reducing the carbon footprint, protecting the nature of the Smoky Mountains, recycling, gardening, and community stewardship. Come have fun and support a meaningful cause!
Townsend Grains & Grits Festival
This is a fall event for the foodies visiting the Smokies! Put on your favorite plaid and join the festivities for Southern spirits paired with delectable gourmet good-eatin’ in Townsend, Tennessee, just up the road from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. On November 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy smooth samples, hand-crafted cocktails by bartenders and mixologists, and beer sampling from micro and home breweries; this a foodie’s heaven in the mountains.
Local restaurants, distilleries, and breweries bring their best to be put on full display alongside a gorgeous autumn atmosphere and fun, live musical entertainment for a day you won’t soon forget! OktOBERfest at Ober Gatlinburg
Experience a German beer festival in the heart of the Smokies at Ober Gatlinburg’s Annual OktOBERfest, September 27-November 3! The indoor/outdoor festivities include games, a Bier Garten where you can sample featured breweries, an authentic German live band, and delicious Bavarian style cuisines!
Tap your feet and dance with the Smoky Mountain Oompah Band after taking a ride on the Alpine Slide or playing on the Ice Bumper Cars. Go all out for the German event and dress up in your favorite Dirndl or suspenders and sip on beers from giant plastic boots! Stockings, giant pretzels, schnitzel, and yodeling – you’re in for a real German Oktoberfest in the Smokies at Ober.
