While Pigeon Forge is often known for its plethora of family-friendly attractions, dinner shows, and variety of restaurants, the city also plays host to a number of races throughout the year. Some honor veterans, some encourage families to run together, and some have fun themes. But all have one thing in common – they’re all held in front of the backdrop of the scenic Smoky Mountains.
Pigeon Forge’s Midnight 8k Road Race offers a fun twist on the traditional road race. Held at midnight along the main drag (the Parkway) in downtown Pigeon Forge, the Pigeon Forge Midnight 8k Road Race takes runners past the stores and bright lights of the city. The course is a flat, fast, and easy one, so runners of all skill levels often reach their personal best times here!
Put on by the Knoxville Track Club, the Pigeon Forge Midnight 8k Road Race is for any runners interested, but top runners can earn points in the KTC Grand Prix of Road Racing – the race also counts toward the Team Competition Grand Prix.
Both seasoned runners and beginners can enjoy this quick and easy race. Because it’s flat, it’s great for many different skill levels. It even has a wheelchair division! You can register online for just $30 ($40 after July 30), and if you don’t want a t-shirt, you can take $5 off the price at any time. Race-day registration will be held at the Holiday Inn Pigeon Forge Hotel and Convention Center from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pre-registered runners will get short sleeve performance t-shirts on the day of the race, and refreshments will be provided for all runners and walkers!

What to bring
Temperatures in the area average highs of 88 degrees and lows of 66 degrees. While weather can change quickly, it will likely be warm and humid, so runners should dress accordingly and bring plenty of water!
What not to bring
Roller blades, bicycles, strollers, and dogs are not allowed, and headphones are discouraged.
